Amity Institute of Biotechnology (AIB) was established as a constituent Institute of Amity University Madhya Pradesh in 2011 with an obvious and clear objective to impart high quality education to develop highly skilled and competitive human resources to cater the needs of industries and academia in Biotechnology/Life Sciences. AIB is a premier institute of AUMP for its quality research, innovation, and technology. Till date institute has filed more than 20 patents, out of which 12 have been published in the Patent Journal of India. One patent has been granted and two are under examination for grant.

research publications in Peer Reviewed, Scopus Indexed, SCI, Web of Science (WoS) and Journals listed in UGC-CARE. Several books and book chapters with national and international publishers are authored by the faculty members of AIB. The institute also has a few copyrights to its credit.Amity Institute of Biotechnology is constantly grooming and achieving the excellence which is evident from its graduate, post graduate and doctorate alumni, who are well placed and working across the globe. To name a few, some of them are pursuing their higher studies in United States of America, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Russia, Canada, Israel etc.

The institute is known to have highly qualified and committed faculty members with national and international exposure. All the faculty members of AIB are PhD qualified and actively engaged in research and development on contemporary issues and thrust areas of Biotechnology and therefore has established Centre of Excellence in Nano-biotechnology and Alternative Medicine. The faculty members have wide experience in various disciplines of Biotechnology, Plant Biotechnology, Animal sciences, Microbiology, Bioinformatics, Immunology, Biostatistics, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Nano-biotechnology, Environmental Biotechnology, Fermentation Technology etc.

  1. Consultancies and Internships:
  • The Institute provides consultancy services to industries and students/scholars of various universities and colleges across the country.
  • Students of AIB have received different fellowships from various national and international agencies like Ben-Gurion University of the Negev Israel, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem Israel, Rockefeller University USA, CSIR Delhi, NIPGR New Delhi, Indian Academy of Sciences Delhi, MPCST Bhopal, etc. to carry out their summer internship/dissertations.
 

 

  1. High Impact Research:
  • Faculty member of AIB have published papers in high impact journals such as Environmental Chemistry Letters, Biologia, Journal of Pure and applied Microbiology, Frontiers in Plant Sciences, Genomics, Frontiers in Microbiology, LWT Food Science & Technology, Journal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, World Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology, Electroanalysis etc.
  • Institute is currently running 03 projects funded by MPCST, Bhopal and 03 have been successfully completed.
  • Institute has produced 06 PhD successfully and 11 students are pursuing their Ph.D. 
  • Institute has frequently organized various national and international workshops, training, popular lecture series and conferences for research awareness and skilled development.
 

 

  1. Centre of Excellence in Nanobiotechnology and Alternative Medicine:

AIB has established Centre of Excellence in Nanobiotechnology and Alternative Medicine to augment institutional research capacity for promotion of interdisciplinary science and innovation in specific areas of biotechnology. It provides flexible long-term support for highly innovative research in the field of biotechnology and allied sectors. Faculty members of Centre of Excellence in Nanobiotechnology and Alternative Medicine have published 66 research papers and filled 12 patents and one is granted.
