Amity University Madhya Pradesh organized its Second Convocation Ceremony on Saturday, 25 February 2023. Approximate 1000 people including alumni, students, parents and guests, attended the ceremony at a packed Convocation Plaza, Block A ground AUMP. This auspicious occasion was graced by the benign presence of Dr Aseem Chauhan, Hon’ble Chancellor and Chairman, AUMP, Dr Bharat Saran Singh, Chairman, Madhya Pradesh Private Universities Regulatory Commission, Shri Ajay Chauhan, Trustee, RBEF, Ms Divya Chauhan, Chairman, Amity Art Foundation, Dr. W. Selvamurthy, Chancellor Amity University Chhatisgarh and Shri Deepak Singh, IAS, Commissioner, Gwalior Chambal Division and many esteemed members of Amity Education Group.
The event began with a hawan and arrival of dignitaries who were received by the Hon’ble VC and other senior members of the University. Thereafter the Academic Procession was formed that was led by the Pipe Band of the 14 pipers of the Brigade of 7 MADRAS Regiment. The University flag was carried by Mr Abhishek Yadav from MSc-Biotech-II semester. He was followed by Mr. Harshit Agrawal, an alumnus of Amity Business School, who carried the AUMP Alumni Flag. Behind him were proud members of the AUMP Alumni Association. The Registrar, Mr Rajesh Jain, led the senior members of faculty, members of University’s Statutory Bodies and Senior Officials of the Amity Education Group. They were followed by the Vice Chancellor, who was accompanied by recipients of Honorary Professorship Ms. Reshmi Menon, and Mr. Deepak Singh, IAS, Commissioner Gwalior-Chambal Division.
Following them was Hon’ble Chancellor & Chairman, Amity University Madhya Pradesh, Dr Aseem Chauhan Ji, who was accompanied by Shri Arun Bharat Ramji recipient of the Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) and Guest of Honour, Prof. (Dr.) Bharat Sharan Singhji, Chairman MP Private Universities Regulatory Commission, Bhopal.
The proceedings on the dais commenced with lighting of the lamp of knowledge & wisdom and Saraswati Vandana. Then, the Hon’ble Chancellor & Chairman Dr Aseem Chauan, declared the Convocation 2023 open.
Over 1746 graduands of various programmes from the class of 2020 to the class of 2022, including Engineering & Technology, Management, Biotechnology, Architecture, Journalism and Mass Communication, Law, Fashion Technology Political Science, and other domains received their UG, PG and Doctoral degrees during the Second Convocation 2023.
59 Gold Medals, 57 Silver Medals and 57 Bronze Medals were bestowed on the top rankers. 27 students were awarded PhDs, 26 students were awarded Best All Round Performance awards for the years and 26 students were felicitated with Shri Baljit Shastri Awards at the convocation.
In his address Lt Gen V.K. Sharma, AVSM (Retd), Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Amity University Madhya Pradesh informed the gathering about the achievements of faculty and students. He said that today Amity University is known as world leader in the field of education and this stellar feat is the outcome of visionary leadership of Dr Ashok K Chauhan, a profound thought leader. He is committed to making India a global super knowledge power by grooming the future ready workforce imbued with traditional values and sanskars. With untiring zeal and energy Dr Chauhan has established 12 universities in India, 11 global business schools, 25 international schools apart from global presence in 18 countries. He further said that because of the dynamic energy and seamless mentorship of Dr Aseem Chauhan, Honourable Chancellor and Chairman, AUMP, the university has reached this glorious milestone today. Hon’ble VC also thanked Mrs Divya Chauhan, Chairman, Amity Art Foundation for her benign presence to bless the graduands.
In his address, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor said that young graduands are truly blessed that they would be receiving their medals and degrees and awards in the presence of such illustrious luminaries present on the dais today. He also thanked the parents of the graduands for entrusting AUMP with the responsibility of educating their wards. He further said that Amity University Madhya have diligently prepared them for life. He further said we at AUMP are committed to transform our students into outstanding human beings, responsible citizens and committed professionals in the new knowledge era which is driven by rapid advancements in science and technology. We are moving on the path of excellence with a vision to be the hub of creativity and innovation and contribute to the growth of Bharat in the progress of humanity to the excellence in education by conducting and promoting research with relevance to industry and society and large.
The Hon’ble VC also briefed the audience about the awards and accolades won by the university. He also threw light on the programmes run at the university and Centres of Excellence at the university. Giving a snapshot of success saga of the University, he also informed the gathering about research papers and research journals published in the university, patents and copyrights, projects, NSS and NCC units in the university, Alumni’s and placements at the university.
Motivating the students the Hon’ble VC urged the graduands to continuously upgrade their knowledge and skills, be their own sculptor, and march ahead with confidence and progressive mindset.
In his address to the august gathering, Dr. Aseem Chauhan, Hon’ble Chancellor & Chairman, Amity University Madhya Pradesh said that today the graduands are being recognized for their tremendous hard work, perseverance and persistence. We are proud of the success you have already achieved. As founder president says every Amitian will be a success story and I look forward to see you achieving excellence in your selected stream. Motivating the graduands, Hon’ble Chancellor and Chairman told the graduands that when they embark on this journey and reach mesmerizing success, they should remember that there are many hands which propelled them forward in this journey. Their parents entrusted AUMP with the responsibility of providing best education in the world by sacrificing their comforts.
Addressing the graduands, Hon’ble Chancellor and Chairman stated that a teacher feels that she/he has succeeded only when his/her students have succeeded. Praising Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, AUMP Lt Gen V.K Sharma, Dr Aseem Chauhan said that his achievements and efforts are extremely appreciated. He further said that we at Amity will leave no stone unturned to bring the University at a global platform, so that the students could be proud of their Alma Mater. And this can only happen if we follow the footsteps of Hon’ble Founder President Dr Ashok K Chauhan. AUMP is the jewel in the crown of Amity network. Ending his address, the Hon’ble Chancellor and Chairman blessed the graduands by saying that, “May you live a life of passion and purpose”.
On this occasion Shri Arun Bharat Ramji, Chairman of SRF Foundation was conferred with the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy Honoris Causa by Hon’ble Chancellor & Chairman, AUMP, Dr Aseem Chauhan. While expressing his gratitude to the University for bestowing honour upon him, Shri Arun Bharat Ram ji, Chairman of SRF Foundation congratulated the graduands, their parents and family members for being a part of such a glorious occasion. He motivated the graduands by telling them that it is their responsibility to take their Alma matter and educators forward.
Prof. (Dr.) Sukhsimranjit Singh, Director of the Straus Institute of Dispute Resolution, Pepperdine University, and a successful international mediator was conferred upon Honorary Professorship Degree of the University virtually. In his acceptance speech Prof. (Dr.) Sukhsimranjit Singh expressed his gratitude for the Honorary Professorship and told the students that whatever they have learnt at Amity, they will radiate that energy to the whole world. He also congratulated the graduands for their achievement.
Ms. Reshmi Menon, Lead - Early Talent Acquisition - India and APAC - PaloAlto Networks - is one of the most acclaimed and respected recruiters in the world of Campus Placements was conferred upon Honorary Professorship Degree of the University. In her acceptance speech, Ms. Reshmi Menon, Lead - Early Talent Acquisition – India and APAC expressed her gratitude for the conferment of Honorary Professorship. Mr Deepak Singh, the 2007 batch IAS officer, the Additional Commissioner Higher Education with additional charge of Vice-Commissioner Gwalior-Chambal Division was welcomed by the Hon’ble Chancellor & Chairman.
The second Convocation at Amity University Madhya Pradesh was a grand event of celebration and glory, a memorable event in the life of graduands who went down the memory lane along with their parents and family members. The Amitians will always cherish the exhilarating moments of reunion with the classmates and the time spent at their Alma mater. The graduands from UG, PG and Doctorate programmes, donned in beautiful robes and scarves were a mesmerizing sight to behold.
As a custom, the Amity Alumni Flag was handed over to the student representative of next batch by Mr Harshit Agrawal, an alumnus of Amity Institute of Biotechnology to Mr. Aviral Pandey an alumnus of Amity School of Engineering & Technology. Following this, the Convocation 2023 of Amity University Madhya Pradesh was declared closed by the Hon’ble Chancellor & Chairman AUMP, Dr Aseem Chauhan.
After the main Convocation Ceremony, the degrees were distributed to the following five different venues of the University: -

The second convocation of Amity University Madhya Pradesh would be cherished forever by the graduands and their parents for their entire life.
