World Pharmacist Day

Health Checkup Camp

 Amity Institute of Pharmacy, AUMP celebrated “World Pharmacist Day 2023” on 25th September 2023. The theme of the program was "Pharmacy strengthening health systems - Angdaan Mahadan" which aims to promote the profession and honour the crucial role being played by pharmacy professionals in improving health outcomes. 

 
Amity Institute of Pharmacy has organised the following activities:
1.     Health Checkup Camp
2.     Medicinal Tree Plantation 
3.     Social Media Campaign on the Role of Pharmacists in Healthcare
4.     Logo/Poster Making Competition
 
The health checkup camp was organized by Amity Institute of Pharmacy, Amity University Madhya Pradesh at Berja Village, Government Hospital & Aganwadi, Morar, (Gwalior). Dr. Naveen Sharma initiated the program by greeting the dignitaries and briefing the villagers about regular health checkups. He emphasizes the importance of body mass index (BMI), blood pressure (BP), and blood glucose testing. B. Pharm students voluntarily participated in the screening of BP, BMI, and blood glucose screening. Based on test results the faculty coordinators have counselled the villagers on dietary and lifestyle changes for better health outcomes. This program was successfully coordinated by Dr Naveen Sharma Professor, and Mr Arvind Singh Jadon, Assistant Professor in Pharmacology. 
In the Medicinal tree plantation program, more than 100 B. Pharmacy students are actively involved. The purpose of the event was to create awareness regarding Herbal medicines and to encourage future generations to be serious and take part in protecting medicinal plants. The activity was coordinated by Dr. Amit Upadhyay, Professor in Pharmacognosy.
 
 
 
A social media campaign on the “Role of Pharmacists in Healthcare” was planned and coordinated by Dr. Jovita Kanoujia, Associate Professor in Pharmaceutics. The thematic posters were designed and uploaded on various official social media handles of Amity University Madhya Pradesh such as Facebook, Instagram, Linked, Twitter etc.

In the logo/poster-making competition, 32 students actively participated. The students expressed their views and thoughts about the pharmacy profession by drawing and writing slogans/quotes. This activity kept the students engaged and it was organized to explore and encourage creativity in students and offer them a platform to showcase their skills. This event was successfully coordinated by Mrs. Monika Kaushik, Assistant Professor in Pharmacology.
 
This program was coordinated by Dr. Naveen Sharma, Dr. Amit Upadhyay, Dr. Jovita Kanoujia, Mr. Arvind Singh Jadon, and Mrs. Monika Kaushik. In this program, B. Pharm students from all semesters and all AIP faculties actively participated. This program was successfully planned and organized with the coordination of Prof. (Dr.) S. Mohana Lakshmi, Director, Amity Institute of Pharmacy, Amity University MP.
