The Earth Day program commenced with a warm and insightful welcome address delivered by Prof. Dr. Novrattan Sharma, the Director of AIBAS. In his address, he underscored the crucial importance of raising environmental awareness and the need for everyone to acknowledge their shared responsibility in preserving the Earth.

Prof. Dr. Sharma highlighted how environmental issues, such as climate change, pollution, and deforestation, have reached critical levels, urging the audience to take immediate and meaningful action. Drawing from the Fear Appeal Theory, he warned and imposed fear to audience that if we continue to neglect our environment, the consequences will be dire — rising temperatures, extreme weather events, food and water scarcity, and irreversible damage to ecosystems. These threats are not distant possibilities but urgent realities that can affect our lives and the generations to come.

He emphasized that the power to bring about positive environmental change lies within each of us — individuals, communities, and institutions alike. Only through collective, informed action can we confront these dangers and build a resilient, sustainable world.

Prof. Dr. Sharma also spoke about the significance of education in fostering an environmentally conscious mind-set among future generations. He encouraged students and faculty to integrate sustainability into both their personal and professional lives.

In conclusion, his address inspired everyone to reflect deeply on the urgency of environmental protection, urging the gathering to commit to proactive steps toward a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable future. His words, anchored in both hope and responsibility, set a powerful tone for the day — aligning perfectly with the global theme of Earth Day 2025, "Our Power, Our Planet."

"He concluded by reminding the audience that Earth Day should not be limited to a single date on the calendar — rather, every day must be lived with a sense of responsibility towards our planet. It is our collective duty to nurture, protect, and preserve the Earth, for ourselves and for future generations."

Inspirational Deliverance by Dr. Aakash Gupta from ALS Department

Dr. Gupta from the ALS Department delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking address on the occasion of Earth Day. He emphasized the urgent need to realign our lifestyles with nature and adopt sustainable practices in everyday life. Highlighting the theme "Our Power, Our Planet," he encouraged students and faculty alike to become active stewards of the environment. Dr. Gupta spoke passionately about the role of education and community action in combating climate change and preserving biodiversity. His speech resonated deeply with the audience, instilling a sense of responsibility and purpose. He concluded by urging everyone to take small but meaningful steps toward a greener future.

Adding a creative touch to his speech, Dr. Gupta recited a heartfelt poem dedicated to the Earth, which beautifully captured the planet’s beauty, struggles, and resilience. The poem stirred deep emotions and further reinforced the message of environmental stewardship. His overall deliverance left the audience motivated and deeply reflective.

Poster or Pledge Activity – Expressing Environmental Commitment:

As an engaging and interactive segment of the Earth Day celebration, a poster activity was organized where all participants were encouraged to share their thoughts, reflections, and environmental pledges. Posters were thoughtfully designed and displayed across the venue, featuring themes aligned with the Earth Day 2025 slogan "Our Power, Our Planet."

Members—including students, faculty, and staff—actively contributed by writing impactful messages, slogans, and personal commitments toward environmental protection. These included pledges to reduce plastic use, conserve water and energy, plant trees, and promote sustainability within their communities. The posters not only added color and creativity to the event but also served as a powerful visual representation of collective awareness and responsibility.

This activity fostered a sense of unity and purpose, reminding everyone that small individual actions, when combined, can lead to significant positive change for the planet.

Token of Appreciation – Chocolate Distribution:

As a token of appreciation and love for their active participation, chocolates were distributed to all attendees at the end of the Earth Day celebration. This small yet thoughtful gesture symbolized the sweetness of collective efforts and the shared commitment toward environmental sustainability. It also served as a reminder that every individual’s contribution, no matter how small, is valuable in creating a better future for the planet. The distribution of chocolates added a personal and warm touch to the event, leaving participants with a sense of fulfilment and camaraderie.
