Amity Institute of Pharmacy under the aegis of Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, organised a guest Lecture on “Basics of clinical research and career opportunities in clinical research”. The event was convened by Prof Dr Suneela Dhaneshwar and coordinated by Dr Manoj Dikkatwar, which was organised on a virtual platform on MS Teams, wherein students of Pharm D (1st, 2nd, and 3rd year), M. Pharmacology 2nd and 4th sem.) and B Pharm (8th Sem) joined with full enthusiasm.
The objectives were:
(a) To update the knowledge of students about basics of clinical research.
(b) To update and guide the students about various career opportunities in clinical research.
Dr. Manoj S Dikkatwar moderated the event and started with an introduction of the speaker Sarabjit Sidhu, Manager, Medical Governance Board, Clinical Trial Transparency, GSK. The honourable speaker helped the attendees to explore the brief information about clinical research, clinical trial, and various career opportunities in clinical research field.
This event was attended by more than 95 attendees, and everyone appreciated the talk and presentation of speaker. The lecture continued for more than an hour following a questionnaire session of 10 minutes in which the students of final year B. Pharm, and Pharm D actively participated. The event ended with a vote of thanks offered by Dr. Manoj S Dikkatwar, Assistant Professor. This session aided the students in academics as well as provided a guidance to pursue their career in the field of clinical research like drug safety associate, pharmacovigilance, medical writing, and clinical operations.
