Webinar on Is Existing Legal Framework In India Adequate To Tackle Disease Outbreaks ( Epidemics)?
The webinar dedicated to bring awareness among academicians, students, practitioners about British Era: Legal Frame work, Epidemic Disease Act, 1897, Indian Penal Code -Section 144, 188, 269 & 270 Post-Independence: National Legislation & Guidelines, State Legislation, Approaches to Legislative drafting, National Disaster Management Act, 2005 etc. were discussed. Webinar was organized on 13th April 2020 between 3PM – 4PM.. The expert Prof. ( Dr. ) Saroj Bohra, Director Amity Law School explained to the young students about the Epidemic Diesease Act,1897 and how government has been able to deal with this situation. The importance and details of this epidemic act was discussed in detail. It is smallest act with only four sections out of which section two is important out of all as states have been given special powers under this act.
