Amity University and Usesorb Nanosolutions Pvt. Ltd. sign Technology Licensing and Start-up Incubation Agreement
Amity University and Usesorb Nanosolutions Pvt., a start-up by Dr. Ranu Nayak, signed a Technology Transfer (TT) and Start-up Incubation Agreement, felicitated by Directorate of Innovation and Technology Transfer (DITT), Amity University Noida.
Dr. Ranu Nayak, Founder, Usesorb Nano Solutions Pvt. Ltd., averred, “Usesorb Nano Solutions is an Indian Start Up incubated at Amity University Noida. Marine Oil spills cause severe environmental damage and impact human health. India faces challenges in quickly responding to spills due to lack of readily available resources and technologies. The technology developed by us is a sustainable nanosorbent technology which absorbs any kind of oil including crude oil, petrol, diesel, engine oil, allowing nearly 99% oil recovery. The technology will substantially save cost in operating expenses, as compared to conventional multi-step cleaning processes. It is also non-toxic and environment friendly, making it India’s first low-cost hazard free, fuel transportation solution. ”
Dr. Subarna Ghosh, Co-Founder, Usesorb Nano Solutions Pvt. Ltd., said, “Our go-to Market Strategy includes reaching out to Government Organizations, Coast Guard, Indian Defence (The Indian Army and the Indian Navy) and Private Companies (Automobile Industry and Logistics Sector). We are hopeful that our technology will be accepted by these organizations and will soon be commercialized for their benefit.”
Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, AUUP, stated, “Amity always encourages its faculty and students to launch their own ventures and contribute to the goal of ViksitBhart@2047. We are extremely proud of our scientist, Prof. Ranu Nayak, who along with her team, has worked so hard on developing this path-breaking technology. We are certain that this technology will be highly beneficial in curbing environmental damage and ensuring sustainability.”
Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President ASTIF, said, “Our Hon’ble Prime Minister has given us the three important missions- “Aatm Nirbhar Bharat”, “Swachh Bharat” and “Swasth Bharat” mission. An oil spill is the release of a liquid petroleum hydrocarbon into the environment, especially marine areas, due to human activity, which pollute the seas and rivers and cause damage to marine life. The technologies developed by our scientist will be extremely helpful in removing oil pollutants from the sea, thereby protecting the environment.”
