National Space Day celebrated at Amity
Amity Institute of Space Science and Technology (AISST), Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, organized a programme on the theme, "With Aryabhatta to Gaganyaan : Ancient Wisdom to Infinite Possibilities”, commemorating ‘National Space Day’. The aim of the programme was to inspire the students, and researchers to contribute to the Space sector and inform them about the endless possibilities in the Space Science sector.
Motivating the young scientists, Chief Guest, Lt Gen Anil Kumar Bhatt (Retd), DG ISpA, averred, “We have developed many new technologies in the Space sector and today India is one of the leading countries in the world, in space technology. We have become completely self-reliant in this sector and are also helping other countries in their research in the area of Space Science. The government has provided the opportunity not only to the defence services but also to the private sector to participate in the space sector and the outstanding achievements of our Space Scientists are being recognized all over the world. The youth of our country must contribute to this sector and make their country proud.”
AVM Rajiva Ranjan, VM (Retd), Advisor to CDS, said, “India's space story is about 1500 years old which is a part of our rich history. Research and innovation in the space sector is crucial for the development of our country and we must develop affordable technology so that it is cost effective for the Space Sector.”
Addressing the students, Dr Manish Saxena, Director, SatNav, ISRO, opined, “Hon’ble Prime Minister, Narendra Modi Ji, made the announcement to observe August 23 as National Space Day to celebrate the success of the Vikram Lander. The National Space Day is celebrated after the landing site was named as 'Shiv Shakti' Point (Station Shiv Shakti) and August 23 was declared as the "National Space Day", dedicated to celebrating the advancements and contributions in space exploration and technology."
Wg Cdr Satyam Kushwaha (Retd), Founder Scytale Alpha, Chakra Dialogues Foundation, said, “No one can stop India's steps in space now. Chandrayaan, Aditya, Space Centre Construction, etc are telling our success stories and private industries have played a big role in transforming the Space sector. Future generations must actively participate and contribute to transforming the Space Ecosystem of the country."
Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President, ASTIF stated, “The program is closely aligned with the Vision and Mission of the Amity Space Mission, envisioned by the Honourable Founder President. This pioneering initiative seeks to foster innovation, research, and collaboration in the frontier domains of Space Science and Technology. In perfect harmony with the spirit of National Space Day, today’s celebration aspires to blend India’s rich astronomical heritage with modern scientific advancements, thereby preparing a future-ready generation of space scientists, technologists, and innovators.

Through its academic programmes, cutting-edge research initiatives, and collaborations with premier national and International organisations, Amity Institute of Space Science and Technology (AISST) is nurturing young minds to contribute to India’s space mission.”
On this occasion, students also presented their technological innovations in the Space Sector.
