“Sustainovation -2025” Hackathon kickstarts at Amity
Amity University Uttar Pradesh (AUUP), Noida Campus is hosting “Sustainovation -2025”, 30-hour Hackathon at AUUP, Noida Campus from 3rd to 5th September 2025, with the objective of fostering sustainable innovation among students. During the Hackathon, students will work on defined tracks—Clean Water, Clean Energy, and Healthy Soil, to develop practical, impactful, and scalable solutions addressing some of the most urgent environmental challenges. Their innovations will be judged by the jury members and winners will be awarded during the Valedictory Session.
30 teams comprising of 77 male and 27 female students from institutions such as Guru Nanak Dev University, Uttarakhand Technical University, IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur, Government Women Engineering College, RCC Institute of Information Technology, and many others are participating in this mega event.
Highlighting the significance of the Hackathon, Dr. Neeraj Sanan, CEO, Intelligent Insights, averred, “Sometimes there is an idea in our mind, but we do not have the financial resources to implement it. While at other times, we might have the money but no ideas how to make use of it. This Hackathon is a great opportunity for the students to develop their skills, collaborate and learn from each other. It will also encourage the students to think of sustainable solutions to the problems which exists in the world today, wherein sustainability is the main focus area.” He called upon the students to be good, efficient, effective and work hard to achieve their goals.
Motivating the students, Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor Amity University Uttar Pradesh, stated, “The hackathon will promote youth-driven innovation in sustainability through hands-on problem solving. It will also help in identifying and nurturing early-stage ideas which can evolve into implementable solutions. The Hackathon will serve as a great platform to strengthen collaboration between academia, industry, and policy stakeholders and contribute to the development of the nation.”
Dr. B.K. Murthy, Dean-Translational Research Amity University said, “Sustainovation- 2025 is a Hackathon designed to bring together students, researchers and young innovators from across the country, who will work on developing innovative solutions to environmental challenges.”
