Amity Alumni Panel Discussion on “Innovating for Tomorrow: The Transformative Role of Engineers in a Changing World”, held to commemorate Engineer’s Day
Amity University Uttar Pradesh Noida campus organized Alumni Panel Discussion on the topic, “Innovating for Tomorrow: The Transformative Role of Engineers in a Changing World” to commemorate Engineers’ Day, celebrated in honor of Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya, recognizing the profound impact that engineers have on shaping modern society, from infrastructure and technology to sustainability and healthcare.
Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh said, “Engineers’ Day stands as a powerful tribute to the architects of progress who transform ideas into innovations and challenges into solutions. For Amity University Uttar Pradesh, as a leading Research and Innovation driven University, Engineers’ Day is more than a commemoration, it is a reaffirmation of its commitment towards nurturing visionary problem-solvers and ethical leaders. It is also a moment to spotlight the achievements of our alumni, and to inspire the next generation to engineer a future that is inclusive, resilient, and transformative.”
Highlighting the role of engineers in the society, Ms. Sonia Manchanda, Chief Analytics Officer, K.S. Airsoft Pvt. Ltd., & Alumna - B. Tech. (ECE), Class of 2007 , stated, “The role of Engineers is crucial in the development of a country. Whether it is infrastructural development, healthcare or agriculture, engineers are devising technologies and products for every sector and contribute immensely to these sectors."
Ms. Devshree Kumar , Principal Scientist, CSIR-NAL, Ministry of Science and Technology, GOI, & Alumna - B.Tech.(ECE), Class of 2008 (ASET-Lucknow) , opined, “Analytical mindset alongwith great human values and behavioural skills must be the characteristics of a good engineer. Amity University has played a huge role in nurturing future leaders by instilling human values amongst the students. "
Mr. Uzair Asad, Technical Lead, Thales & Alumnus - M. Tech. (CSE), Class of 2017, said, "Engineers must be capable, curious and creative in order to find solutions to the existing challenges of the society. An innovative mindset alongwith the passion to solve a problem are the pre-requisites for becoming an engineer, since new innovations are shaping our economy."
Mr. Rahul Agrawal, Principal Engineer, Cadence, Noida & Alumnus - B.Tech. (ECE), Class of 2013, stated, " The government is providing a huge impetus to semiconductor technology under the "Aatmnirbharta" mission, by setting up semi conductor plants in different regions and India is manufacturing its own chips for products such as computers and mobile phones. Students should be aware of the emerging technologies and should never stop learning. "
Dr. Manoj Pandey, Director ASET said, “In today’s rapidly transforming landscape characterized by technological breakthroughs, climate imperatives and increasing global interconnectedness the role of engineers transcends technical expertise. They are problem-solvers, innovators and change-makers, constructing not only bridges of steel and concrete but also bridges of ideas, opportunities and passion.
