Army Institute of Law, Mohali wins 15th Amity International Moot Court Competition- 2025
Amity Law School (ALS), Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, conducted the 15th Amity International Moot Court Competition-2025, from 09th to 11th October, 2025. The theme for the Competition was “The International Community and a New Crime of Aggression – The Case Concerning Alphalfa and Anonymous Victims,” engaging participants with some of the most pressing and evolving challenges of international law.
A total of 26 institutions, universities from the country such as National Law University of India, Bangalore, Chandigarh Law College, National Academy of Legal Studies and Research Hyderabad, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University, Lucknow, and many others, participated in this competition. The team from Army Institute of Law Mohali was awarded the winner of the 15th Amity International Moot Court Competition and the runner-up trophy was bagged by Government Law College, Madurai.
Motivating the participants, Hon’ble Mr. Justice, Nahakul Subedi, Judge Supreme Court of Nepal, averred, “Amity is a leading educational institution in the world and the opportunity to showcase your skills during Moot Court Competition, will make you one of the best lawyers of country. Moot Court prepares the students by providing them with practical knowledge, helping them to develop their critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities qualities. Students must improve their skills and work on their weak areas.”
Hon'ble Mr. Justice. Manoj Kumar Ohri, Judge, Delhi High Court, opined, “The moot court competition prepares the students for courtroom practice, by instilling confidence in them and make them capable to present their case in the court of law. In the court, the judges may test you in many ways, they may ask many kinds of different questions to know how prepared you are and how well you can argue in front of the judges, therefore, one must be thoroughly prepared and do their research before presenting their case.”
Hon’ble Mr. Justice C. Hari Shankar, Judge, Delhi High Court, said, “In the Preamble of the Constitution, the word “justice” has been emphasized upon instead of the word 'law', so one should work to achieve justice for their clients. Truth must be spoken with utmost sincerity and facts must be presented with complete honesty. Earlier there were only two options after becoming a lawyer, either practice in a court or join a law firm, but today there are many options for students, they can join IT Sector, corporate sector or any other sector of their choice since lawyers are required in every field.”
Sharing his Words of Wisdom, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President Amity Education Group, said, “Moot Court Competition provides students with an opportunity to speak confidently, enhance their analytical and critical thinking ability, and learn professional ethics. It is the responsibility of a lawyer to fight for justice and to protect the rights of the people. We are certain that students who participated in this Competition will become great lawyers who will work for the society, thereby doing great service to humanity.”
Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said, “Mooting is an enriching experience that enables law students to demonstrate their subject knowledge among their peers. Through Moot Court competitions, students gain valuable insights and opportunities to hone their skills in debating, mediation and problem-solving skills.”

Highlighting the significance of the Conference, Prof. (Dr.) Shefali Raizada, Director, Amity Law School, said, “The aim of organizing this International Moot Court was to provide a transformative platform that nurtures intellectual curiosity, sharpens advocacy and prepares Students to contribute meaningfully to society and the legal profession.”
During the 15th Amity International Moot Court Competition, Ms. Sanya Kumar of Chandigarh Law College, Mohali was awarded the Best Researcher Award, the Best Memorial (Prosecutor) Award was given to the team of Banaras Hindu University and the Best Memorial (Defender) Award was given to the team of Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur.
