Invited talk on “Replication & Cell Cycle Regulation in Pathogens: Unique properties and possible intervention”
A special invited talk was organized for Amity Institute of Biotechnology Students. Prof. Suman Dhar of Special Centre for Molecular Medicine, JNU, New Delhi visited Amity University Gurgaon on March 3, 2017 to interact with biotechnology students.
In his talk, He addressed students about his work on two important pathogens, Helicobacter pylori and Plasmodium falciparum. Prof. Dhar discussed about the strategies that the pathogens take to replicate inside human host and how that leads to infection. His group has identified some novel inhibitors for Plasmodium growth and one of the inhibitors is being tested as a possible drug candidate. He has got a US patent for this inhibitor.
