Amity University Mumbai Organizes Round Table Conference

 The Entrepreneurial Cell of Amity University, Mumbai held a Round Table Conference on 10th April 2021 on Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies from 11:00 am onwards on Zoom.The conference, moderated by Dr. AKS Suryavanshi, was attended by 200 attendees.

 
The conference had three panelists. Mr. Ninad Karpe is the Managing Director and CEO of Aptech, world’s fourth largest software company. He has held various responsibilities in the past like roles in Public Relations, Human Resource, technical services, etc. Mr. Piet Grymonprez is the Co-Founder and Managing Director at MyMachine Global Foundation. Recently, Forbes Forbes ran an article on the impact of MyMachine in the global education space. Ms. Shubhika Bilkha is a Founding Partner at EdPowerU and was awarded the “Most Promising Motivational Trainer 2020”

According to Mr. Karpe, we need to just “look outside the window and we will see an opportunity.” He talks about how everything is an opportunity, and how funding infrastructure is important for funding any opportunity. He also talks about how we must install incubation centres in all universities rather than mere cells. He further discusses how the changes brought by pandemic are here to stay, and how now, for anything we plan, we must think digital first.
Lastly, he discusses how digitalisation has had a positive impact on emerging economies.

Mr. Grymonprez talked about bringing ideas to life. He further talks about understanding the complex world we live in, how the answers to most complex issues are simple, and why we need to embrace the complexity of the world to find better solutions. He also talks about how changing the smallest parameters can bring a big difference, and how the answers to most complex issues are simple. Mr. Piet talks about why knowing and accepting failure is important and how saying “yes” to everything helped him create opportunities.

Ms. Bilkha talked about what it is to be a woman in business, especially at a time when there weren't too many, and how she never let things get to her. She further discusses how it is important to hold on to the momentum even five years into the business, and to make sure it doesn't die. She also discusses how the pandemic has affected women more than ever, with families staying home and expecting the woman to manage household and professional work. She discusses how it is crucial to know a workable idea from a non-workable one to become successful, and how planning for future enables you to take risks. The conference ended with the panelists answering the questions of the attendees and a brief conclusion by the host.
