The Centre for Students’ Happiness & Success at Amity University Jharkhand is established to support the overall development of students by focusing on their emotional, mental and personal well-being. Drawing from the principles of positive psychology, mindfulness and emotional intelligence, the Centre is committed to create an encouraging and inclusive environment that will help students to thrive both academically and personally.

VISION  

The Centre for Students’ Happiness & Success at Amity University Jharkhand is a dedicated initiative established to promote emotional well-being and mental health. Founded under the visionary leadership of Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President of Amity Group, Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor of Amity University and under the guidance of Dr. Ashok K. Srivastava, Vice Chancellor of Amity University, Jharkhand, the Centre offers a range of programs and resources aim in fostering personal growth, mindfulness and stress management. Through seminars, workshops, research, counselling services and engaging activities, the Centre will create a positive and nurturing environment that will help students, faculties and staffs to build resilience, enhance their happiness and lead a balanced academic and personal life.

MISSION/ OBJECTIVES  

Our mission is to create a thriving environment where mental well-being is at the forefront, empowering students to lead happier and more balanced lives. Through a variety of activities, the Happiness Centre strives to equip individuals with the tools and resources they need to manage stress, build emotional strength and cultivate a positive mindset.

Proposed Activities  

To ensure the effective functioning of the Centre for Students’ Happiness & Success, the following steps are proposed:


  • Conduct Research on Happiness and Well-being: Conduct research aimed at exploring the key factors that impact student happiness, emotional well-being, and mental health.
  • Inspirational Talks and Expert Interactions: To host guest lectures and motivational talks featuring happiness researchers, psychologists, life coaches and well-being experts.
  • Educational and Awareness Programs: Organize engaging sessions that will teach practical techniques to enhance personal happiness, mental health, and emotional well-being. These may include workshops, seminars and interactive group activities rooted in positive psychology and life skills training.
  • Community Wellness Activities: To promote social connection and holistic wellness through activities such as yoga sessions, guided meditation and laughter therapy. These initiatives will aim to create a supportive community and will improve the overall campus atmosphere.

Expected Impact and Outcomes

Referring to the Section 6, of the Amity University, Jharkhand (Act no 13 of 2016), the objects of the University shall be to disseminate and advance knowledge and skill by providing instructional, research and extension of facilities and in such branches of learning as it may deem fit and the University shall endeavor to provide to students and teachers the necessary atmosphere and facilities for the promotion of:

  • It will enhance students’ emotional resilience and their ability to cope with academic and personal challenges.
  • It will foster healthier interpersonal relationships and will create more effective communication among students.
  • It will improve the overall campus environment, leading to higher levels of student satisfaction and well-being.
  • It will empower students to become future ambassadors of happiness, emotional intelligence and holistic growth in their professional and personal lives.
  • It will integrate well-being as a fundamental component of student development and success.

Events organized by the Happiness Centre, AUJ

  1. On December 12, 2024, Amity University Jharkhand organized a motivational talk centered on the "Importance of Training for Success." The event featured renowned Bollywood actor and motivational speaker, Mr. Rajpal Yadav, as the guest speaker. Students and faculty gathered at the campus auditorium to hear Mr. Yadav's insights and perspectives on how proper training is a crucial component on the path to achieving success. The talk inspired and guided the attendees, providing them with valuable lessons on personal and professional development.

On April 25, 2025, the Seminar Hall at AUJ hosted an insightful online session titled "Mindfulness: The Seed of Happiness." The session was led by the distinguished Dr. Saamdu Chettri, Professor and Director of the Yogananda School of Spirituality and Happiness. Dr. Chettri, recognized as one of Bhutan's 100 prominent figures in 2008 and a recipient of the Buddha Peace Prize in 2016, shared his profound expertise on mindfulness, offering valuable perspectives on its role in cultivating happiness.
