“Paraya Ho ya Apna , Nashamukt ho Sabka Apna” De-addiction drive: A path to Nirogi Bharat

The Director of ASL, Prof. (Dr.) Kum Kum Ray, came up with the idea of organising an event on the theme of eradicating addiction from the society, and make youth aware of harmful effects of addiction, and aim to promote “Nasha Mukta Abhiyan”, an initiative of  the Indian Government.

The goal of this event was to enhance awareness regarding the harmful effects of addiction among youth, and to come together to eradicate addiction from the country. The menace of addiction and its ability to destabilize a sound mind is not a trivial issue, and the event constantly worked towards addressing this vulnerability in today’s youth.

To this effect, the dramatics club of ASL, Mimesis, performed a Nukkad Natak on the theme of “Shikshit Nari, Shashakt Nari” which reflected prominent government policies for women empowerment.

The event aspire to create an environment where participants can learn about the negative impact of all kinds of addictions on students, which lead to lower mortality rates and higher chances of failure.

The students took the initiative to organize a thought-provoking event, full of expression and a will to create and learn. Honourable Minister, Mr. Kaushal Kishor, Minister of State for Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, highlighted the importance of Nasha Mukt Abhiyan and gave the students a platform to learn and grow. His lecture had and impact on the student and made the student realize the harmful effects of addiction
