A Guest Lecture of Dr. Divya Kandari was organised by AIB and AIISH on 17th August 2026. Dr. Divya, through her lecture on anthrax vaccine development and her research on bacterial zinc homeostasis and novel anti-anthrax therapeutic antibodies, explained the basis and significance of developing anthrax antibodies in detail.
The aim of the event was to provide faculty members and students at CIRF with an understanding of anthrax vaccine development, with particular emphasis on the molecular biology of Bacillus anthracis and the development of effective post-exposure therapeutics. The lecture by Dr. Divya, Senior Project Associate under the National Science Chair (NSC) at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, aimed to acquaint the attendees with current research on bacterial zinc homeostasis and the development of novel anti-anthrax therapeutic antibodies.
The event provided faculty members and students with valuable insights into the challenges posed by Bacillus anthracis and the need for effective post-exposure therapeutics.The subsequent interaction further facilitated discussion and enhanced the attendees’ understanding of the topic.
