A Cultural Event was organised by Allegories - The Literary Mahasabha on 22nd August 2026. The event sought to encourage collaboration among student societies, foster a sense of community and campus spirit through collective participation, and provide students with an opportunity to engage with traditional and contemporary forms of musical expression.
The aim of the event was to celebrate Punjabi cultural heritage by showcasing tappa, a traditional Punjabi folk performance form, through an original narrative presentation alongside contemporary music and dance. The event also aimed to conclude the semester’s cultural calendar with a celebration of togetherness and shared enjoyment.
The event successfully brought the student community together through a blend of traditional Punjabi folk music, contemporary performances, and collaborative cultural activities. The presentation of tappa provided students with exposure to a significant traditional art form, while cross-club participation and collective dancing strengthened community engagement and campus spirit. The Vice Chancellor, through his address, highlighted the uplifting and unifying power of music and shared an anecdote from Apple’s history to illustrate how music could transform the atmosphere even during challenging circumstances. The event concluded with a meaningful message on the ability of music to bring people together, uplift spirits, and create a sense of joy and togetherness.
