“Shakti Dastak” was organised by SHAKTI on 18th August 2026. The event sought to create awareness about issues related to gender equality while encouraging empathy, understanding, and social responsibility among students.
The aim of Shakti Dastak, organised by the Shakti Women Empowerment Society as the first event of the academic year 2026–27, was to promote community building and sensitise students towards the experiences and challenges faced by women. Through the pad donation drive in collaboration with Ek Rahat Foundation and the interactive meet-and-greet session with freshers, the event also aimed to promote menstrual hygiene, community participation, and meaningful engagement among students.
Shakti Dastak successfully marked the beginning of the academic year by combining community outreach with student engagement. The pad donation drive in collaboration with Ek Rahat Foundation contributed towards supporting menstrual hygiene among women in the local community, while the meet-and-greet session provided freshers with an opportunity to interact, participate in games, and build connections with fellow students. The event sensitised participants towards the experiences and challenges faced by women and encouraged empathy, inclusivity, and social responsibility. It also established a strong foundation for community building and women-focused initiatives during the academic year.
