The Amity Institute of Pharmacy (AIP), Amity University Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior, successfully organized a Guest Lecture on “Importance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in Academia, Industry, and Research.” The event aimed to create awareness about the significance of intellectual property in fostering innovation, protecting ideas, and promoting ethical research practices.
The program commenced with a warm welcome by the anchors, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana, symbolizing knowledge and wisdom.
The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries including:

Programme Overview:
The seminar was designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of Intellectual Property Rights and their role in safeguarding innovation. The Director, Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Mishra, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the importance of IPR in academic and industrial research.
Technical Session I:
Dr. Mukesh Kumar Kumawat delivered an insightful keynote lecture highlighting:
- The role of IPR in pharmaceutical research and drug discovery.
- Importance of patent filing and protection of innovations.
- Real-world applications of IPR in academia and industry.
- His experience as a patent consultant and researcher.
Technical Session II:
Mr. Yasir Abbas Zaidi (online session) elaborated on:
- Patent examination procedures in India.
- Role of Indian Patent Office and regulatory frameworks.
- Awareness initiatives under National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM) and emerging trends in IPR related to AI and technology.
· The lecture witnessed enthusiastic participation of over 200 students, providing valuable exposure to real-world aspects of intellectual property, patent filing procedures, and industry-oriented research practices. The session significantly enhanced awareness regarding innovation protection, commercialization pathways, and career opportunities in the IPR domain.
· The program concluded on a highly impactful and successful note, leaving participants motivated towards innovation, research excellence, and intellectual asset protection.
· Plantation Ceremony: The program also featured a plantation ceremony, symbolizing the commitment towards sustainability and the nurturing of innovation and growth.
· The event concluded with an felicitation of the keynote speakers, acknowledging their valuable contribution to the session.
· This was followed by concluding remarks delivered by the Prof. (Dr.) Mukesh Singh Sikarwar, Deputy Director, AIP highlighting the importance of IPR in academia and research. He emphasized the need to foster innovation and awareness regarding intellectual property among students and faculty. He also encouraged active participation in research and patenting activities to strengthen academic and industrial growth.
· The program ended with a formal vote of thanks by Dr Sarita Sharma, Associate Professor, AIP expressing gratitude to all dignitaries and participants.
