Amity Institute of Pharmacy, Amity University Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior, successfully organized an educational tour to Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Gwalior on 21st April 2026. The tour was led by faculty coordinators Dr. Pawan Kumar Gupta, Dr. Ramakant Joshi, Dr. Monika Vishwakarma, along with 26 students from the B. Pharm program.

The tour focused on exploring the principles and practices of ayurvedic medicine, and to see how it is applied in a clinical setting. Students visited various research facilities of the institute including zebrafish laboratory, biochemistry laboratory, sophisticated instrument lab, hot area, and laboratory animal facility. This program aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 4, particularly focusing on ensuring that everyone has access to quality education and lifelong learning opportunities. The team from Amity University expressed their dedication to continuing such programs for holistic development of students.

 

Aim & Objective of the Program:

 

The main objectives of this educational tour are

·      To bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application of Ayurveda.

  • To cultivate respect and understanding for the rich heritage of Ayurvedic science.
  • To observe clinical practices in an Ayurvedic hospital setting.
  • To witness the application of various Ayurvedic therapies like Panchakarma, Swedana, Basti etc.

 

Details of the Program:

In this educational tour, 26 B. Pharm students from VIIIth semesters, and the 3 faculties of AIP actively participated. This program was successfully planned and organized with the consultation of Dr. Manoj Kumar Mishra, Director, Amity Institute of Pharmacy, Amity University, MP.

Mrs. Sapna Kondalkar, from Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Gwalior welcome our students and faculties. Mrs. Kondalkar showed different departments of Institute including  Sophisticate instrument lab , biochemistry laboratory and zebrafish facility, Hot area, Laboratory animal facility The experts demonstrated various research techniques including pharmacological screening, herbal drug standardization, and experimental procedures. Finally, as a gesture of appreciation, Mrs. Sapna Kondalkar was presented with plant sapling and a memento by the organization. This thoughtful act served to express gratitude and honor towards the contributors for their efforts.
