Outside the standard framework of any educational curriculum, there are endless opportunities for students to learn new skills and ignite new passions. Extracurricular activities are a vital element in any students’ development, often building on lessons and learnings that begin during school life. At Amity University Gurugram, emphasis is laid on organizing students centric events in the form of clubs and University activities like Sangathan which is month long sports carnival with 36 team and individual sports events . Amifest is a cultural extravaganza with large No of universities participating in diverse cultural events.

Joining a student club at Amity University Gurugram presents students with many opportunities to learn more about themselves, their goals, and strengths. Students can learn from other students how to handle certain situations . They can also find out what they are good at, whether it is multitasking, staying organized, generating ideas, or serving others. This self-awareness can be of tremendous benefit for the future career of students.

By actively participating in clubs students develop soft skills that allow us to effectively interact with others, like communication, attitude, and work ethic. Participating in a student organization not only teaches individuals these skills, but also helps them broaden and improve those that they already have. Students learn the best way to communicate with both individuals and large groups, and gain emotional intelligence as they develop new relationships.

Knowing how to work well with a team is an essential skill for any career. Being in a student club event teaches students how to do this by putting them in situations where they are required to take advice from others, as well as give their own.

Participating in a club or an organization based around particular areas of study will give individuals practical experience within that field. And what’s great about student clubs is that while students learn to use skills like project management, event planning, and fundraising, they get to test them out in a safe environment where making mistakes is okay . Chances are, the organization, that students choose to participate in, will include a diverse group of people — thereby making them face real situations in the working world. Learning how different people respond and react to certain situations will help students develop skills in presenting and implementing ideas.

Becoming a leader in any organization or event helps develop leadership skills that will be invaluable in all areas of life. Students are presented with opportunities to improve public speaking, and gain confidence in themselves as individuals.

Participating and successfully achieving club goals, when added to the student profile, looks good on resumes. Showing employers that potential employees participated in, or (better yet) lead, a student organization, will allow them to know that the student, they wish to employ,is hard working and can handle multiple responsibilities.

Many student clubs associated with social responsibilities provide opportunities to give back to the community, whether through acts of service, sponsoring events, or hosting charity drives. Not only is this good for society, but also teaches students how to be compassionate and develop the joy of giving and sharing. Moreover, social responsibility clubs, and the work undertaken by them, helps shape responsible and compassionate citizens of tomorrow.

Being an involved student in a activity is a commitment of time and resources.Students continue to get involved on campus because they see that the sacrifice of their time is worth the benefits they receive — the friendships, the level of involvement across campus, the expansion of their professional network, and the amount of fun they can have as a team.

Given the optimal environment, where free thinking is encouraged, students tend to become more creative , independent and out of the box thinkers.A quality that can be a game changer for students aspiring to join the corporate world.

Student organizations have a lot to offer. Whether students join as a member or choose to lead one, simply taking part in an extracurricular group will enhance their experience. Gaining skills, making connections, and broadening their knowledge through club activities , will help students to become more well-rounded individuals — ones that are ready to take on their future careers in this diverse and challenging world.
