The Amity Institute of Pharmacy, Amity University Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior, successfully hosted on One Day Guest Lecture cum Workshop titled “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR): Protecting Innovation & Creativity” on 15th April 2025.
The Guest Lecture cum Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of the significance of protecting innovation and creativity in the rapidly evolving world of research and development. With a strong emphasis on practical strategies, legal frameworks, and commercialization techniques, the event equipped attendees with the essential knowledge to safeguard and monetize their creative and research outputs.
The Guest Lecture cum Workshop on IPR aligned with several key initiatives promoting innovation and intellectual property. It supported AGNII (Accelerating Growth of New India's Innovations), aiming to foster innovation in India, and SDG 9, which focuses on sustainable industrialization and innovation. The workshop also highlighted the role of Intellectual Property India in protecting innovations, aligned with the IQAC for maintaining academic quality, and supported the IIC (Institution Innovation Council) in fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students and faculty. These efforts collectively promote the protection and commercialization of intellectual property in India.
The Guest Lecture cum Workshop on IPR was led by Dr. T. Manish Kumar, Professor at Balaji Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Warangal, Telangana, and an IP Professional Trainer for NIPAM 2.0 by CGPDTM, Government of India. Dr. Kumar shared his extensive expertise on intellectual property protection and commercialization techniques, providing participants with valuable insights. The event was coordinated by Dr. P. Sagar and Dr. Monika Kaushik, both Associate Professors. It was organized by the Amity Institute of Pharmacy at Amity University Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior, under the leadership of Dr. Manoj Kumar Mishra, Director and Principal, and Dr. Mukesh Singh Sikarwar, Deputy Director, serving as the Convener and Co-convener respectively.
Aim & Objective of the Program

The aim of the Guest Lecture cum Workshop on IPR was to provide participants with essential knowledge and practical strategies for protecting and commercializing intellectual property, fostering innovation, and understanding the legal frameworks surrounding patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
The objective of the present conference was to-
· To build a strong foundation in the fundamentals of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
· To raise awareness about IP laws and help participants avoid common legal pitfalls.
· To provide practical guidance on patent application preparation, filing, and prosecution.
· To teach IP portfolio management and enforcement strategies.
· To introduce the concepts of IP commercialization, including licensing and technology transfer.
· To facilitate networking opportunities with IP professionals, legal experts, and innovators.
· To equip participants with the tools to protect their innovations and confidently navigate the IP landscape.

Organized by the Amity Institute of Pharmacy, the event was convened by Dr. Manoj Kumar Mishra, Director and Principal, with Dr. Mukesh Singh Sikarwar, Deputy Director, serving as the Co-Convener. The event helped participants build confidence in navigating the legal and commercial aspects of intellectual property.
