Amity School of Communication (ASCO) organized a six-day Industrial Visit to Delhi, Chandigarh, and Manali. The visit provided students with exposure to media organizations, cultural institutions, and live film production environments.

About the Industrial Visit:

Day 1- All the students along with the faculty members gathered at the Gwalior Railway Station around 11:00 am on 27th march. Upon arrival, the group visited the National Museum, where students explored India’s rich cultural heritage and understood the importance of visual storytelling in media and communication. The visit provided valuable insights into historical preservation and presentation techniques.

Day 2- The group reached Chandigarh around 1:00 am and checked into the hotel for their stay. After freshening up and breakfast, students were briefed by Dr. Manish Dubey about the schedule and learning objectives. Later, the students visited Arth Prakash Publication House and Studio, where they interacted with Editor Mr. Mahaveer Jain and his team. Students were introduced to newsroom operations, production techniques, and various departments involved in news broadcasting. After the industrial visit, students also explored the Rock Garden, which showcased creativity through recycled materials. After lunch students continued their exploration in Chandigarh and gained further exposure to media practices and production environments. The day focused on understanding practical aspects of journalism, including editing, reporting, and broadcasting processes. Students actively interacted with professionals and clarified their queries regarding careers in media and communication.

Day 3- Students reached Manali and reached their destination after a scenic journey. Upon arrival, they checked into the hotel and relaxed. Later, faculty members conducted a landscape and snow photography workshop, where students learned camera techniques, framing, lighting, and composition. The session helped students enhance their practical photography skills in natural surroundings.

Day 4- Students visited a live film set of Aashiqui 3 in Manali, where they got the opportunity to interact with the production team and renowned film director Anurag Basu. They observed real-time shooting, camera setups, lighting arrangements, and coordination among crew members. This experience provided valuable insights into filmmaking and on-set management. Students also continued their photography assignments in the scenic locations of Kullu-Manali.

Day 5 On the fifth day of the industrial visit, students visited the Atal Tunnel, an engineering marvel, where they learned about infrastructure development and its significance. The visit was followed by final photography sessions and group activities.

Day 6- On the final day of the industrial visit, students departed from Manali and travelled towards Kullu to begin their return journey. After completing the visit and local activities, the group proceeded towards New Delhi and boarded the train for Gwalior. The journey marked the successful completion of the industrial visit, with students returning with valuable experiences, practical knowledge, and memorable moments.

Key Outcomes.

The students gained practical exposure to media and photography during the industrial visit. The visit to Arth Prakash helped them understand newsroom operations, reporting, and broadcasting processes.

The film set visit in Manali provided insights into real-time filmmaking, including camera work, lighting, and coordination. The photography sessions helped students learn about camera settings, composition, and capturing visuals in natural conditions.

Overall, the visit enhanced students’ technical skills, creativity, and understanding of the media industry.
