Civil engineers plan, design, develop, build, manage, rehabilitate and operate the physical elements of the human habitat. Almost every aspect of everyday life is impacted by projects conceived, designed and constructed by civil engineers. Civil Engineering, like all other fields, is comprised of many sub-disciplines. Primary areas of concentration include building technology transportation, geotechnical, environmental, structural engineering, and construction engineering and management.

The Department of Civil Engineering at the Amity University Rajasthan was established in 2010. Offering modern, relevant and market-oriented civil engineering course in Jaipur, the department strives to produce eminent engineers who can make significant contributions in the planning and execution of Civil Engineering projects in India as well as abroad.

The Department offers a four-year course leading to the Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. Presently, in total there are 161 students pursuing Bachelor’s degree in the department. There are currently 1 Professor, 5 Assistant Professors and 2 Technical Assistants working in the department.

One of the best engineering colleges in Rajasthan, the faculty of the civil engineering department at Amity University continue to strive for exploration of new frontiers of knowledge, imparting the latest technical knowledge to the students and conducting high quality of research. The faculty also renders technical advice on live engineering problems to various Government and Private Sector companies throughout country.


The department is equipped with latest facilities and equipments for extensive training to the undergraduate students. The department has world class laboratories, especially material testing, hydraulics, survey, road material testing, and soil testing laboratories. In addition to that these are also used for numerous research, consultancy and testing works.

There are jobs that involve supervision, construction, design and analyzes of private as well as public projects, such as dams, highways, canals, water sewages and bridges. The profession demands excellent skills for both administration and supervision of projects. Excellence and responsibility are important  factors associated with the job.
