Amity Institute of Pharmacy had organized Webinar on “Intellectual Property Rights in the Indian Pharmaceutical Industry” on 18th August 2022 by Mr. Amit Bansal, Head IPR, Mankind Pharma, India, make students and faculty aware about the domain and use of Intellectual Property Rights in Pharmaceutical industry.

On the topic of "Intellectual Property Rights in the Indian Pharmaceutical Business," Mr. Bansal gave a lecture in which he expounded on the regulatory elements of IPR in the pharmaceutical industry. The Indian Patent Act of 1970 was thoroughly covered by him. He thoroughly described the various facets of patenting using appropriate examples, such as mandatory licensing, prior art, market exclusivity, lawsuits, and PCT filing. To comprehend the intricacy required in this sector, he further highlighted the importance of learning the appropriate skill sets. He also talked about the job prospects in this industry. He provided accurate information to support his claim that India's pharmaceutical industry is seeing rapid expansion and that protecting intellectual property rights is a key concern. As a result, India will require skilled labour soon. He therefore stressed the importance of having the IPR in the course curriculum as an elective or optional subject.
