Towel animals include elephants, snakes, bunnies, and swans. Some of the patterns necessitate the use of many towels, as well as a face towel or hand towel. The towel art adds a personal touch to the guest room. The winner of the Towel Origami Competition was Himaan Sahajwalla, a BHM - 3rd Sem student, while the first runner-up was Simran Kaur, a BTTM - 3rd Sem student.
Best Slogan Competition:
The Slogan Competition, held in conjunction with Housekeeping Week, aimed to enhance young development education and knowledge of development concerns. The e-Slogan writing contests featured two topics: green and sustainable housekeeping. Slogans improve marketing efforts for certain products, attempting to increase income for the firm. A slogan may help to establish a link between a business and the general public by expressing to them what a company stands for and what it delivers. Slogans use emotion to convey how an excellent service may make people feel. Shreya Singh, a BHM 1st Sem student, won the Best Slogan Competition, while the first runner-up was Krishna Bhargava, a BTTM 3rd Sem student.
Laundry Visit:
The ASH housekeeping department planned a laundry visit to AUHCampus laundry. People spend the bulk of their time away from home, either working or travelling. People generally get their garments washed/cleaned at the local laundry in order to drop this weight. This laundry excursion was scheduled for first- and second-year BHM and BTTM students to educate them on the various and professional laundry machines used in hotels.
A total of 23 ASH students from the Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) and Bachelor of Tourism & Travel Management programmes went to the "AUH Campus Laundry." The BHM and BTTM students had the opportunity to view the laundry and meet the folks who worked there. The pupils were first presented a presentation about laundry, which was followed by collecting, labelling, washing, and ironing. They were led to each piece of equipment to explain the concept, usage, and technique to manage it. The students were lectured on the tasks and responsibilities of the laundry personnel as well as other hotel job prospects.
Panel Discussion (Online) on “Sustainable Housekeeping Practices in Hospitality Operations with Housekeepers”:
Ms. Sharda Sharma, Director Guest Service, Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel; Ms. Neerja Sharma, Quality and Customer Experience Management, IGI Airport Delhi; and Ms. Reena Tiwari, Director, RARE Consultancy were invited to participate in the discussion.
The discussion's main point was that it is critical to apply numerous eco-friendly housekeeping strategies in addition to conserving energy and safeguarding the environment. Eco-friendly cleaning materials, cleaning processes, correct cleaning chemical disposal, and appropriate individual training are just a few examples of eco-friendly housekeeping practises. The panellists provided a thorough and extensive review of sustainable housekeeping methods. The topics discussed included garbage disposal, biodegradable and biomedical materials, the application of artificial intelligence in housekeeping, and the culture of use and toss. A big takeaway point was AI-powered garbage cans. Three themes were discussed: planet preservation, individuals utilising chemicals, and profitability.
The event's idea and goal were to instil a sense of cleanliness in each individual's psyche. Custom-Green protects the environment and human health for all interior activities as well as outside grounds maintenance. The programme takes into account social, environmental, and economic concerns, as well as appropriate behaviours in everyday living in the hotel environment.
