Guest Lecture on “International Internship - A Gateway to Successful Hospitality Career” Organized by Amity School of Hospitality (ASH) on 8th February 2023

On February 8, 2023, the Amity School of Hospitality (ASH) hosted a guest lecture on the topic of "International Internship - A Pathway to Successful Hospitality Career." Dr. Vinod Kumar Chauhan, an assistant professor, Dr. Kunal Seth, a professor, and Dr. Garima Parkash, a director and professor, served as the faculty coordinators. Foreign Internship - A Pathway to Successful Hospitality Career was the topic of the guest lecture given by the expert, Ms. Supriya Rai, Director of Edu Brain Overseas. This event's main goal was to provide ASH students with a wealth of knowledge on the importance of the effects of overseas internships on their resumes and careers. A total of 36 ASH BHM & BTTM students took part in this activity.

Students were informed about the numerous global opportunities for overseas internships by Ms. Supriya Rai, who also walked them through the procedure step-by-step. She asserted that everyone's internship experience is crucial. They are frequently a person's first exposure to a professional setting, where they experience the stress of deadlines, meetings, and contacts with individuals from various backgrounds. One must make wise decisions since while they won't determine the remainder of one's professional career, they are a great place to start. She discussed the advantages of doing an international internship, including how it can help one gain the necessary communication skills in various environments by meeting new people, test one's problem-solving skills and flexibility to overcome new challenges and uncertainties, make one aware of global trends and issues, equipping him/her with the tools to become a global citizen, introduce one to different ideas, processes, and work habits that one can take back to apply in his/her home country, and so on.

The attendees' "Take Aways" were that they learned a great deal about the importance of the impact of an overseas internship on their resumes and careers. The resource person's "Takeaways" were her comments that she would want to provide more guest lectures in the future to inform ASH students about the different overseas internship opportunities accessible globally and the application process.
