The "Surajkund International Craft Fair Visit" was arranged by Amity School of Hospitality (ASH) on February 15, 2023. The faculty coordinators were Professor Dr. Kunal Seth, Assistant Professor Dr. Ruchika Kulshrestha, Assistant Professor Mr. Mohd Soyav, and Assistant Professor Mr. Abhishek Roy. A total of 41 ASH BHM, BTTM, and Open Elective students took part in this activity.
During the Surajkund International Craft Fair in Faridabad, Haryana, held during the first two weeks of February, a riot of colour, the pounding of drums, and delight combine. Indian traditional customs and cultural heritage are honoured at the Surajkund International Craft Fair. The Surajkund International Craft Fair draws more than a million people over the course of a fortnight, including tens of thousands of foreign visitors, earning it a prominent place on the world tourism calendar. The Surajkund International Craft Fair, the biggest crafts fair in the world, is special because it highlights the variety and wealth of Indian handicrafts, handlooms, and cultural heritage. Both the Chaupals and the open-air theatres located on the grounds of the Surajkund International Craft Fair feature performances every day from a significant number of renowned national and international folk performers and cultural organisations. Additionally, each evening of the Surajkund International Craft Fair has captivating cultural evening programmes in the major Chaupals. In addition to providing a multi-cuisine food court, entertainment, adventure sports, and pleasure rides, the Surajkund International Craft Fair is a keeper of traditional crafts.
This event was planned with the intention of educating ASH students about handicrafts, handlooms, the cultural fabric of India, Indian folk traditions, cultural heritage, traditional skills, ethnic cuisines, folk dances, adventure sports, and pleasure rides. The ASH students learned a lot about Indian handicrafts, handlooms, folk traditions, culture, traditional crafts, exotic delicacies, folk dances, adventure sports, and pleasure rides.
