Students from semester 8, Civil engineering have investigated the effects of plan aspect ratio on the seismic responses of reinforced concrete (RCC) buildings using ETABS software. The study investigated the effect of core placement in buildings with varying aspect ratios and to examine various characteristics such as narrative drift, shear pressures, and other pertinent aspects and adds more understanding about effect of the location of the core within a building reacts to seismic loads. The study provides useful insights for structural engineers and architects in constructing earthquake-resistant structures. The seismic responses of RCC structures with various aspect ratios and core locations are investigated in this study. The figure shows the simulation results.
