POSTER MAKING AND DEBATE COMPETITION ORGANIZED BY AMITY SCHOOL OF EARTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES
Amity School of Earth and Environmental Sciences (ASEES) organized a poster making and debate competition on 26th September 2022. To mark Innovation Week, two activities were organized: a poster making competition and a debate competition. The event's topic was "Environmental Challenges and Innovative Solutions," and poster creation was scheduled in the first half from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The papers were distributed to the participants, and the competition was held on time. The debate competition began at 2 p.m. in the afternoon session. The motion for the discussion was titled "Emerging Innovations: A benefit or a curse for the environment." A total of 20 participants from various departments took part in both the events.
The purpose of both events was to inspire kids to engage and to express their opinions about innovation and the environment both visually and verbally. The topics of both events centred on testing participants' capacity to grasp and convey the benefits and drawbacks of merging innovation and the environment. The lecture times were chosen in such a way that events may take place throughout the day. Both events were held in person, and an interactive session involving the judges, school faculty, and attendees was also held.
Both events concluded with a protracted question and answer session/interactive session. Needless to say, the activities were a success, and many students were able to share their opinions after thoroughly understanding the content. Participants in the poster-making competition utilised their talents to represent the negative impacts of inventive ideas as well as how innovations might assist to reduce global warming and climate change. Participants in the debate competition debated on how things may have been different if we had a more sustainable method of generating new ideas.
