A Student Activity by ALS on 15th April 2025. The primary aim of the event was to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world policing practices by offering law students an in-depth understanding of the functioning of a police station.

The event sought to provide a practical insight into how police stations operate, with a focus on the use of technology in modern policing. The students were introduced to systems like the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) and various portals developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), which are transforming the efficiency of case management, tracking, and citizen-police interaction.

The discussion on Zero FIR, a vital mechanism for ensuring the prompt legal response to victims, particularly women and vulnerable groups, was especially enlightening. Students were also introduced to the technological advances in policing, particularly the role of CCTNS and NIC portals in ensuring real-time tracking, transparent case management, and efficient citizen-police interaction.
