 A Movie Screening of “Hotel Rwanda” was organised by ASLA on 17^th April 2025. The primary aim of the event was to utilize visual media, specifically the film Hotel Rwanda, to offer students a humanized understanding of the Rwandan Genocide of 1994.

By screening this powerful film, the event sought to enhance students’ historical consciousness and encourage empathy, critical thinking, and a deeper connection to the ethical implications of historical tragedies.

The screening of Hotel Rwanda proved to be an impactful and enlightening experience for all attendees, fostering deeper reflection on the complexities of ethnic conflict, the consequences of colonial legacies, and the profound human cost of historical tragedies. Following the film, the reflective discussion session facilitated a meaningful dialogue among students, faculty, and guests, encouraging critical thinking about the implications of the genocide.
