On September 17, the Department of Dietetics & Applied Nutrition (DAN) at Amity Medical School (AMS), AUH, organized a Guest Lecture on National Nutrition Month. The session featured two distinguished speakers—Ms. Sunaina Khetarpal, Founder & Director of Health is Wealth, who shared her entrepreneurial journey in the wellness industry with a focus on innovation and sustainable business models, and Ms. Deeksha Sehwag, Head of Dietetics at Fortis Hospital, Manesar, who offered insights into clinical nutrition and the expanding role of dietitians in preventive healthcare.
The guest lecture was inspired by National Nutrition Month and aimed to promote awareness about the evolving role of nutrition in preventive healthcare. It sought to encourage students to explore entrepreneurship and innovation in the field of dietetics, align their learning with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education), and provide a platform for academic enrichment through interaction with industry experts.
The session concluded with students gaining valuable insights into both entrepreneurial and clinical aspects of nutrition. By engaging with the speakers, participants developed a better understanding of real-world counselling techniques, business opportunities in dietetics, and the crucial role of nutrition in preventive healthcare.
