Amity Centre for Ocean-Atmospheric Science and Technology (ACOAST) & Amity Centre for Environmental Science and Health (ACESH), Amity University Haryana participated in “Familiarization with Scientists of Emory University, Georgia, USA on AMOD sampler deployment” organized by Emory University and Rollins School of Public Health, Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America in association with IIT Delhi on 20th April 2022.
As a part of CEAMS (Citizens Enabled Aerosol Measurements for Satellites), an expert team, headed by Prof. Jeremy Sarnath and Dr. Nelsha Athauda of Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America, explained about the scope and application of AMOD (Aerosol Mass and Optical Depth) sampler for the purposes of the Multi-Angle Imager for Aerosols (MAIA) satellite.Discussed about the MAIA AMOD standard operating procedures and site selection as well as the Maintenance Protocols of the AMOD instrument.The goal of the MAIA AMOD investigation is to gain further insight into the PM2.5 and AOD relationship.Distance from extreme emission sources, unobstructed access to direct sunlight, security and accessibility and electrical power, requirement of reliable wi-fi connection.Discussed about the pre-installation activities and installation overview with demo.
