Seminar on Introduction of NTCC Courses and Research Orientation organized by Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Forensic Sciences

On September 22, 2022, the Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Forensic Sciences at Amity University Gurugram, Haryana, presented a seminar on "Introduction to NTCC Courses and Research Orientation." As the expert speaker, Dr. Seema R Pathak, Professor and Head of CBFS at Amity University Haryana, emceed the event.

The students learned how to Search Literature for Conducting Research from the expert's engaging talk on the subject. Research is a topic that is full of possibility and may aid in the investigation of new themes. They had learned about the value of research and how to do research by conducting a literature search. They came to the conclusion that two things are critical: having a creative attitude and thinking more logically and analytically. She also accurately discussed Bloom's Taxonomy.

Students realised that they have to be extremely particular about their expertise in order to discover books to do research. It does necessitate interactions with scholars, as well as difficulties to read, comprehend, and apply. They were also taught how to ask questions. They were also familiar with databases such as SCI-finder (keyword search), JACS (American Chemical Society), and the Royal Society of Chemistry. Students also knew that they needed to carefully select their keywords using Boolean operators and read publications on relevant study subjects. Dr. Dipti Vaya (Associate Prof) and Dr. Leena Bhardwaj (Coordinators) concluded the seminar with a closing session and vote of thanks (Assist. Prof).

Students learned and comprehended how will they do research? How the search in and of literature aids in research. They learned about critical thinking and having a rational mentality when it comes to questioning and starting a research project.
