Gender Sensitization: Prevention of Sexual Harassment at the Workplace

Events

The Gender Cell, Amity University Rajasthan, organized an awareness programme on 27 July 2026 with the objective of creating awareness about the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 and promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive academic and professional environment.

The programme focused on sensitizing participants to the concept of workplace sexual harassment, understanding acceptable and unacceptable workplace behaviour, the rights and responsibilities of employees and students, and the mechanisms available for prevention and redressal under the POSH Act. The session also highlighted the role and functioning of the Internal Committee (IC), the complaint redressal process, principles of confidentiality, and the importance of fostering gender sensitivity within educational institutions.

The resource person engaged the audience through practical examples, case studies, and interactive discussions, enabling participants to understand the legal framework as well as the ethical responsibilities associated with maintaining a respectful workplace. The session encouraged participants to actively contribute towards building a culture of dignity, equality, and zero tolerance for harassment.

The programme concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session followed by a formal Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the valuable contribution of the resource person and all participants for making the event successful.
