Amity School of Communication (ASCo) organised a guest lecture on “Inside the Sports Desk: From Match to Newspaper Page” on October 12, 2026. The resource person, Ms Mandakini Shalya, Senior Digital Content Producer (Sports Desk), The Times of India, Jaipur, provided students with insights into the functioning of a professional sports newsroom. She discussed the nuances of sports reporting and explained how stories move from the ground to the newspaper page, highlighting the importance of editorial planning and sports page layout.

As part of a practical exercise, students created sports page layouts, gaining hands-on experience in the editorial and design considerations involved in presenting sports stories. The event was coordinated by Dr Ankit Kumar Singh, Assistant Professor, ASCo.
