The Nihon Culture Club organized the Obon Festival on 17th September 2025. The chosen theme, “Honouring the Spirit”, beautifully reflected the cultural essence of remembering loved ones while nurturing a spirit of togetherness and collective celebration.

The aim of the event was to promote global cultural awareness by showcasing Japan’s time-honored traditions and rituals associated with the Obon Festival. Through symbolic practices, performances, and interactive activities, the event sought to foster intercultural learning, celebrate diversity, and encourage respect for global customs within the AUH community.

The event not only highlighted the deep significance of honoring ancestors but also emphasized the values of unity and cultural exchange. By blending tradition with student participation, the festival inspired attendees to appreciate global diversity and fostered a sense of harmony that extended beyond cultural boundaries.
