A webinar entitled ‘Biotech Ignition Grant - The Beginning of an excellent career under Bio-entrepreneurship’ by Ms. Suman Gupta (Chief Operations Officer) and Mr Sudhanshu Shekhar (Business Development Manager), Bio-Incubator, Regional Centre for Biotechnology, Department of Biotechnology was organized under the aegis Amity Institute of Biotechnology (AIB), Amity University Rajasthan (AUR), Jaipur, on 9th September 2020 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. More than 80participants including faculties, research scholars and students of AIB have attended the webinar. The objectives of the event are – to introduce the Bio-entrepreneurial ecosystem (background about NCR Biotech science cluster, RCB and Incubation, Start-ups ideas), and funding opportunities focusing on BIRAC.
Dr. Anupam Jyoti welcomed all the participants and introduced the panelists. Prof (Dr) Vinay Sharma, Director, AIB, Dean Research, AUR, Jaipur welcomed the speakers and apprised about the importance of entrepreneurship in the field of Biotechnology. Dr Vijay Kumar Srivastava introduced the speakers and requested them to start the lecture.
Ms. Suman Gupta, Chief Operations Officer, Bio-Incubator, Regional Centre for Biotechnology, Department of Biotechnology introduced the Bio-incubator at NCR Biotech Science Cluster at RCB and how it is helping startups & innovators to come forward and experience the unique ecosystem of the facility & convert their dreams into reality. In the continuation, Mr Sudhanshu Shekhar, Business Development Manager, Bio-Incubator, Regional Centre for Biotechnology, Department of Biotechnology delivered lecture on funding opportunities available at BIRAC with emphasis on Biotech Ignition Grant (BIG). He informed that incubator center provides globally competitive & superior incubation services to startups & innovators, helping them to become successful enterprise. He also apprised about the instruments and outsourcing facilities available at Bio-Incubator, Regional Centre for Biotechnology.
An interactive session on various aspects of incubation center, BIRAC, BIG was organized where, both the speakers addressed the faculty members, research scholars, and students and answered the questions and cleared many doubts. The lecture ended with vote of thanks given by Dr. Sanket Kaushik.
