Amity Centre for Performing Arts, Amity University Haryana Organised Two days online workshop on Vilasini Natyam by Purvadhanashree between 11th-12th September 2021.
The main objective of the event was to celebrate 75th Year of Independence under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with Shreshth Kala Sangam in collaboration with Amity Centre for Performing Arts
The first day of the workshop started with the welcome address by Prof. Sanjay Kumar Jha, Director, Amity School of Liberal Arts. In his address, he expressed his interest in the arts, conveyed his best wishes for the workshop and appreciated the step taken by both the institutes.
Respected Purva Dhanashree started the workshop., How did Vilasini Natyam first emerge? What is the history of this dance, she explained in detail. After this, to explain how to do Vilasini Natyam, Many types of dances performed in Vilasini Natyam were demonstrated and explained. those dances were presented in a very beautiful form by Ms. Purva Dhanshree . This was followed by Q and A Session.
The second day of the workshop started by resource person Purva Dhanshree explaining the classical side of Vilasini Natyam in detail and demonstrated it by democratizing it. After this, dances based on Vilasini Natyam were also presented.
Total 30 students and 5 faculties attended the session.
