Mission Women Empowerment

As we progress into a world that has less fear of COVID-19, hoping day by day for a better and safe world for all. Both, mentally as well as physically, mankind is on to a fresh start. Be it rich, be it poor, we have all suffered the same loss, have feared the same dreadful end. As we all slowly become safer with vaccination counts rising, we must all realize the depth and intensity of what we have just overcome together.

The pandemic as an eye opener has brought us closer with the realization that we have to look after one another, and that is the need of the hour for us all to survive.

While there are many who have the means to support themselves, there still are sections of the society that suffer greatly. The simplest of aid that could be provided for the ones in need as an act of kindness is always greatly appreciated.

Among such issues comes female hygiene and menstruation. Menstrual hygiene is way more important than we realize. Starting from menarche till menopause, females should be well educated about the seriousness of the matter and learn to be more vocal and aware about their bodies.

For those with little access to sanitary napkins, aid should be provided. It is a must for females to stand together and support each other while our cycles go on. Tackling such lasting issues to ensure that no one suffers in a longer run, SAAKAR, Amity University Gurugram's Youth Social Responsibility Group under the Dean of Students Welfare in collaboration with DRAMEBAAZ and AMOLI SOCIETY FOR WOMEN, successfully organized a 2-day event called WOMEN EMPOWERMENT MISSION from 7 th – 8 th October 2021. The drive lead by young Saakarians was centered around providing sanitary pads to the doorsteps of Gurugram's underprivileged adolescent females and women. The drive also focuses on creating awareness around COVID norms and menstrual hygiene.
