Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University Haryana organized a scientific guest lecture for the celebration of “International Women’s Day” on 8^th march 2022. Woman’s day celebration, 2022 was celebrated by AIB/AIISH from 9:30 AM. This event was inaugurated by Hon’ble Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Padmakali Banerjee. The two guests of honour were Prof. Neera Bhalla Sarin, Former Professor and Dean, JNU and Dr.Subhra Chakraborty, Director, DBT-NIPGR.

The speaker talked about her work on a fungus called fusarium which can infect both nematode, as well as plants. She has worked since last 20 years to decipher the mechanism of it’s infection and resistance.

Speakers also talked about the challenges faced by a lady in everyday life and her journey how they became scientists. They also encouraged the lady faculty members and the students.           

Total 31 Faculties and 60 students attended the event.
