An Educational Visit

An Educational Visit on Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, New Delhi by ASLA on 17th April 2026. The educational visit to Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti was organized to provide students with an experiential understanding of the life, philosophy, and legacy of Mahatma Gandhi through direct engagement with a historically significant site of national memory.

The visit aimed to bridge classroom learning with practical historical exploration by exposing students to archival materials, curated exhibits, interpretative galleries, and multimedia presentations related to India’s freedom struggle and Gandhian thought. It also sought to encourage critical reflection on the relevance of Gandhian principles such as truth, non-violence, ethical politics, and civil disobedience in the contemporary world while promoting heritage-based learning, analytical thinking, and interpretative skills among students in alignment with experiential learning approaches encouraged under NEP 2020.

Through museum exhibits, archival documents, photographs, personal letters, and multimedia installations, students gained a deeper understanding of the life, philosophy, and socio-political contributions of Mahatma Gandhi and his pivotal role in India’s national movement. The detailed walkthrough conducted by Sanjeev Tiwari provided valuable historical context and enabled participants to meaningfully connect historical events with Gandhian ideals of truth, non-violence, civil disobedience, and nation-building.
