Makeup is an art that can be learnt and there are various ways to improve one's skills, depending on how much time and money one wants to devote to it. Discussing makeup is never without controversy, but the latest use of cosmetics is nothing but empowering.

 

The 3 hours of workshop was conducted to teach cosmetics and beauty techniques to empower and strengthen the confidence of women. She discussed makeup theory and then proceeded to demonstrate a day to night look on the students who volunteered.

 

This workshop included the demonstration of skin care, contouring, eyes, lips and cheeks. She showed the student’s different kinds of looks which included party look and daily casual look. She also gave a detailed information about which brands of cosmetics are used by professionals, what are the long lasting products that can be used under regular basis, products that has to be used according to their skin types and skin tones, etc. Students learned techniques to shape and brighten the eyes, define brows, apply false lashes, create perfect lips, enhance features, correct flaws & the use of professional tools that make it easy.

 

Few interesting facts about makeup that she pointed out which she was demonstrating were -Orange is the best colour corrector for under eyes but correctors aren't meant to be used alone; they have to be covered up by another concealer that matches the skin. Use green to conceal redness. Only conceal where needed, and then blend those heavy concealers with a wet Beauty Blender. Press the BB sponge down and out to feather the edges of concealer.A steel palette is indispensable for mixing and switching products.

 

On the whole, It was an insightful workshop where the students were able to know the complexities of a professional makeup artist which will help them in every step of their fashion career.
